Apr. 04, 2002 - 18:59 MST THE WONDERING JEW Endless Wail Is there any real hope for a country who sends its young wearing explosives around their middle to each kill a few civilians ? To follow this to a ridiculous finality, Palestine in a few years would be a nation of old folks. Does it make any sense to try to hold on to land that belongs to the Palestinians ? Common sense seems to indicate that the Palestinians should have their own country -- in peace. Holger Jensen the Rocky Mountain News (International Editor) says in his today's column, "Israelis, Palestinians both have blood on their hands." I think that is very true as much as other things he says. I myself have the fear that we will have to eventually defend ourselves against the whole Moslem world - like Viet Nam only logrithmically multiplied. To put it briefly escalation is damnation regardless of who starts it first. Claims and counter claims fly, some of which are true -- but who knows for sure which ones ? Cruelty and abuse seem to be growing all over the world, even in our country. Some of the abuse comes from the law itself at times but abuse and cruelty both physical and mental seems to be increasing in homes in our country as well. In many ways it is more sophisticated and hard to pin down a culprit, especially they mental abuse that many children suffer. Last April fourth I had something to say which I think holds true now. Always since men began to beat each other to death there has been cruelty and abuse, usually the weaker harmed by the stronger. Now little children on both sides are undergoing the abuse of enemy fire and in the Palestinians case, loss of homes, income and food. This month is the month wherein there is action to prevent child abuse and rightly so. But, in the end, aren't we all children of a God ? Or the same one called by different names and worshipped in a different way ? I don't think any form of true religion in this world preaches anything but some wording of the Golden Rule and only the twisted leaders say something like this, "Yeah, the Golden Rule is for us but not the infidel, the Jew, the Catholic, the Colored, the poor, and so on. To me the Golden Rule applies to every person on this earth. I just wish we all would live by it. But it probably continue on into the future where around the bodies of innocents our progeny will hear from the burial sites that heartbreaking Endless Wail . . . . . . . 0 comments so far
