Feb. 19, 2002 - 20:10 MST THE WONDERING JEW Brewers Now it seems that there is competition as to who is going to be the top liars of our country. According to an article by James Dao and Eric Schmitt of The New York Times the Pentagon is making plans to provide news items either false or true to the rest of the world in an effort to influence public sentiment and policymakers in both friendly and unfriendly countries. Uh Huh, I'll bet the other countries are laying back and making bets on which arm of our government will tell the biggest lies, the Pentagon, the CIA, the diplomats of the State Department and / or the administration as a whole. They said in their article that that the plans have not yet received final approval from the Bush Administration. So what are the odds that clandestine approval will occur ? Some boogey man who will threaten grave harm to our country (probably cooked up by administration liars) that would in a fit of stupidity by said liars be used as an excuse to get approval from the administration. There also is fear that this disinformation will reach our media and be published here. Gotta get Kissinger in the act somewhere, he's a pro at this stuff. Diogenes if reincarnated would wear himself into a wraith looking for honesty among our official liars. What a competition between the arms of our government as to form and polish these lies and just who is going to tell them ? There is even a name for the baby, The Office Of Strategic Influence, HAH Goebbels would be thrilled at the action going on over here, wasn't he the Prince of Propaganda in Nazi Germany ? So many euphemisms have been coined to say falsification in one form or another, now there is yet another, The Office Of Strategic Influence. I guess by now other countries of our world have been looking at us with cynicism in their eyes. Reminds me of the old thing I ran into when I was at an AA meeting once, Alcoholic Thinking, wherein someone does the same thing over and over, but expecting different results each time. Now it seems that it will be a race to see who tells the biggest lie first, and then lies to cover up those lies. From the article, "To help the new office, the Pentagon has hired the Rendon Group, a Washington-based international consulting firm run by John W. Rendon Jr., a former campaign aide to President Carter. The firm, which is being paid about $100,000 a month, has done extensive work for the Central Intelligence Agency, the Kuwaiti royal family and the Iraqi National Congress, the oposition group seeking to oust President Saddam Hussein." A consulting firm drawing $100,000 a month of our tax money to teach officials how to lie ? Right now in my humble opinion my country has no credibility in the world anymore, nor does it have much of a chance to be credible to us it appears to me. I think we have too many groups, adding ingredients and stirring the pot in different directions to make good Brewers . . . . . . . . 0 comments so far
