Oct. 10, 2007 - 23:26 MDT SCIENCE ? And article in the Rocky Mountain News Editorial section this morning forcasts in our winter future a blithered. Reminds me of a TV weatherman in our town that often mentioned the "winds aloft." After his forcast, if it rained, sleeted, snowed and the temperature was 100 degrees the next day, somewhere he had it covered in his forecast. You know, it will probably rain and be windy tomorrow if the jet stream keeps on the course it is following, or it might even be a bit worse. I shall quote it in its entirety. QUOTE LATEST FORECAST: THE WEATHER WILL BE WHAT IT IS "The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says that for most of the country this winter will be warmer than normal. But NOAA forecasters are also not afraid to say they don't know, although in a measured way." "Take this excerpt from the winter outlook: "The northern Plains has equal chances of above-, near- or below average temperature and precipitation. In the northwest, there are equal chances for above-, near-, or below-average temperatures." "Make your plans accordingly. Don't say the government didn't warn you." UNQUOTE Looks to me much like an infestation of politicians in the NOAA, and this is what they call SCIENCE ? . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2 comments so far
