Contact Kelli, temporary manager of Doug's "The Wondering Jew" |
May. 23, 2006 - 19:39 MDT THERE IS SOMEONE In the bowels of our bureaucracy there is one or more folks with super common sense. Way back in the middle of our paper, buried in the National Briefing section of smidgenated articles is this gem, quoted in full: U.S. STOCKPILES TAMFLU IN ASIA AS PREVENTATIVE "The United States is sending a stockpile of the antiviral drug Tamiflu to Asia as a first defense against a possible flu pandemic, Secretary of Health and Human Services Mike Leavitt said Monday." "Leavitt said Washington has shipped treatment courses of Tamiflu to a secure location in an unidentified Asian country." "The drug is regarded as the best intitial defense against a poandemic resulting from a possible mutation of the deadly H5N1 bird flu virus." ++++++ Not said in the short article whether we have enough Tamiflu here to cover a pandemic situation arising in our country. I surely hope so. I also assume the secret place in Asia is one where we have a military presence to assure that if push comes to shove and the Tamiflu is needed, the military will see that it is used as intended. It is nice to realize that in high places, with good common sense, THERE IS SOMEONE . . . . . . . . 0 comments so far
