Apr. 13, 2006 - 20:08 MST RAPID TRANSIT Another little item in our Rocky Mountain News mid-paper on National Briefing that has vast implications. Here it is in full : AIRLINE TRAVELERS MAY HAVE SPREAD MUMPS ATLANTA -- "Two infected airline passengers may have helped spread Iowa's mumps epidemic to six other midwestern states, health officials said Wednesday, the latest example of how quickly disease can be spread through air travel." "These people may have exposed other people on those planes or in these airports," said Kevin Teale, a spoesman for the Iowa Department of Public Health." +++++++++++ The big worry here is West Nile and Bird Flu becoming pandemics. Will there ever be a means of checking the health of people who are flying to other places and other countries prior to them flying somewhere ? Hard fact of life is that contagion spreads as fast as humans spread and certainly disease germs are now moving on RAPID TRANSIT 0 comments so far
