Contact Kelli, temporary manager of Doug's "The Wondering Jew" |
2000-02-13 - 01:45:20 spent the early part of the day laying face down, it does help, but is sooo boring, read some more of maya angelou's book. then the wife and i met some friends at a favorite restaurant and had a great 2 hour dinner. 30 minutes to eat and 90 minutes to sip coffee and talk. i had a great time. came home and read the newspaper and as usual barely avoided upchucking the funnies were!
i see they are finding shavings in the tail section of same make and model aircraft that went in near Los Angeles, what was it, a M D 80 ? wonder if it is the same aircraft that did the vertical, high speed landing near colorado springs someyears ago, it took them quit some time to dig everything up out of the ground. so tragic when airborne machinery is not properly maintained. those birds have been flying quite some time, i don't think it was a design or assembly fault - - but even after months and maybe years the expert investigators might come up with the information of the cause. i hope they do. if they don't, then some kind of wobbly determination will be published. nobody will be satisfied, mollified or comforted. millions of dollars of aircraft destroyed does not even begin to compare with the loss of the souls aboard at the time of the crash, and the misery attendant to the grieving families and relatives. usually relatives at home have their life essentially destroyed.
also the destruction of human life and human lifestyles goes senslessly on. i see the three factions in the country of one of my ancestors, the brits, and two antagonistic irish groups are again waffling around. i see absolutely no need to disarm any one, but execute the bombers and people like that. this american firmly believes that if the firearms are taken from the populace at that time they become easy targets for some amoral strong man to become a dictator. and of course if the people have no means to defend themselves, they go back to serfdom or worse. i will admit that there are people being raised ? no, there are people growing physically to an age that they should be classified and adults, who have not been taught by example or instruction to be responsibe, safety conscious, respectable people. old "sigmund doug" here, thinks that very often these people who are not educated in morals and ethics through no fault of theirs are loose cannon among society and cause untold and not clearly understood and / or accounted for. the cryptic damages which might not show up for years is hard for society to put the blame on those where the blame really should be placed. and yet, it is the fault of our do-gooders in our society who cause parents to fear using any form of discipline on a child for fear that out of spite a child might make a false report of abuse. from what i read, the child is taken from the parents for an indeterminate time, and sorrowfully the parents are convicted in a manner of the old wild west. there is a cartoon of some cowboys sitting on their horses, a man with his hands tied behind him, standing under a noose hanging from a tree limb. the other man standing there has a star pinned on his vest and he is saying, "alright jake, if you think there should be a trial, let's get the hangin' over with and then have a trial." the parents could be saints, but if someone goes paranoid over something they think might have happened lives, of both children and parents will be the same nor will it reach the level of contentment and happines they could have reached, if some one had the common sense to thoroughly and expertly find out the true facts in the case, and avoid lives being ripped apart. i think neglect and abuse can be determined rationally, rather than on a knee jerk reaction. sometimes i believe we all have gone around the bend, and more the concept of problem solving seems to be, PASS A LAW, THROW MONEY AT IT. millions of dollars, time beyond measure and grief can come by, "hangin' him and then have a trial. 0 comments so far
