2000-11-17 - 21:24 MST November 17, 2000 School Looking back and ruminating tonight and seeing things in a light not thought of before. I suppose from the first connected thinking and ability to recognize certain people and familiar things shows up in us, we are in school. The school of life. which has many graduations. A few of them as we grow are, mastering the art of dressing and tying one's own shoes, entering public school, learning how to make and eventually how to keep friends. So it goes with life, an eternal process of schooling. A few of us drop out along the way and stay fixed in the age group we were in when we decided to play hookey. Usually those of us who did are usually very discontent and blame all our troubles on other people or the world in general. Some where along the way as we age we learn to make peace with our own selves being mortal. Then here and there, bit by bit make preparations for our demise, cemetery lots, vaults, head stones things that you don't want to make the kids take care of. In our case, Heather and I have passed along things to the kids already that we wish for them to have. We learn how to take more pleasure from life and enjoy the things we like even more. Most of us at this age are forunately retired. The flip side of retirement for most of us is school again, learning how to cope with the fact that our money will buy less and less as our incomes don't go up but prices do. Many of us are not so lucky as to have loving children and grand children and beaucoup friends, so learn how to appreciate life and continue School . . . . . . . 0 comments so far
