A ONE AND A TWO

It appears to me that we live in a country that could be called surreal.

In this morning's Rocky Mountain News is an article from the Associated Press, here in full:

CIA TO PROBE LEAK OF COVERT PRISONS

"The CIA took the first step toward a criminal investigation of a leak of possibly classified information on secret prisons to The Washington Post, a U. S. official said Tuesday."

"The agency's general counsel sent a report to the Justice Department about the Post story, which reported the existence of secret U.S. detention centers for suspected terrorists in Eastern Europe."

"The official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the issue deals with classified information said the referral was made shortly after the Nov. 2 story. The leak investigation into the disclosure of covert CIA officer Valerie Plame's identity came about through the same referral procedure. The Justice Department will decide whether to initiate a criminal investigation."

"The Post declined to comment."

"Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist and House Speaker Dennis Hastert called for a congressional investigation of the disclosure."

This whole thing makes me sure in my own mind that not only are there U.S. / CIA secret prisons overseas and apparently are common enough knowledge among the administration that upon showing up in news to the public, the Biggies are up in arms and want to have a criminal investigation - - - - - - - - - - - - So how soon will we know how many prisons, where they are and how much torture is involved ?

In the past many sins have been covered up by "security classifications" looks as if this one sin is outed . . . .

The more time goes on the less confidence I have in GWB and his various octopus arms of adminisration.

I guess we are supposed to shrug this off as we were supposed to shrug off Al Ghraib's abuses by our countrymen.

I wonder if the various important people of our government gather at Morey's and put emphasis on the last two verses of the Whiffenpoof song,
