Oh, Poop

Not too much here today, put our freshly laundered seat covers back in the car. Visited with oldest son at his house for a little while. When we got there he was up in one of his trees trimming the branches on the house side. Between bad knees, bad back and an artificial hip joint -- he needs to do that kind of stuff like he needs an extra hole in the head.

He almost got that extra hole at a birthday party a few weeks ago. At age 56 he was playing soft ball with the younger relatives, and of course he was pitching. The batter was swifter than son's eye -- a line drive which broke a piece of his cheek bone, if it doesn't move his sinus is safe, if it does -- voila, the extra hole.

That sort of activity seems to run in the family -- long on hard work and other good things, but with a tendency to overdo physically. He gets it from both sides doubly.

We came home this afternoon to find an edict from the apartment complex honcho telling us that the rent is going up another 50 bucks a month -- that on top of a recent raise. Living quarters, whether ownership or rental residences has gone sky high and looks to be going higher. I really can't understand it either, besides all the complexes being fitted into odd corners in the metro area they have almost finished building a town on the old Lowry Air Force Base. Some of the more sturdy of the military housing such as the fancy officers housing and the NCO's quarters (all family style) have been rented out for a long time.

This area seems to be like grass, just growing up beneath my feet. Traffic is reaching grid-lock proportions most all day now on the arteries.

So whether I understand or not, tomorrow to the leasing office we go -- papers in hand to ask WTF !
