Aug. 11, 2005 - 16:57 MDT AT ANY PRICE In today's Rocky Mountain news is an item way back in the National Briefing section, apparently seemingly not important enough to be somewhere in the front part, is something from Washington D.C. Some in GOP say budget not place for Arctic oil fight "Two dozen House Republicans, including three committee chairmen, have asked Speaker Dennis Hastert not to use a congressional budget procedure to clear the way for oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska." "They said in a letter to Hastert, R-Ill., that the budget process "is an inappropriate venue to be debating this important envirnomental issue" and warned that it would further complicate already difficult budget issues." +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Trojan Horse number six zillion and three ? ? ? ? Frantically, still, trying to get oil, oil, oil is our government. But it won't put a limit on vehicle size and gas consumption and allows hybrids to use more fuel than conventional cars just for the added acceleration. I for one would be willing to ride in an almost super-mini car, if everyone else were forced to conform by the same law. I also would be willing to be limited to 55 miles per hour too. From what little I know there are no more dinosaur and vegetation layers cooking way down below the earth, making more oil and gas. When we pump it all out of the ground, that'll be it ! Shouldn't we be trying desperately to come up with ways to run vehicles without using precious gasoline ? Saving our oil for lubrication, and perhaps even lubrication can be done by other means too, I think there are synthetics that do just as good a job. Of course our peerless leader wants more oil drilling going on AT ANY PRICE . . . . . . . . . 0 comments so far
