Jun. 06, 2005 - 22:58 MDT BEGINNING OF OUR COUNTRY Tonight, just a short entry on a current event. In the Rocky Mountain News of today there is a small article way in the back which is quoted in full here. FLORIDA EAST PALATKA -- "Federal agents raided a migrant farm labor camp where homeless men and women were kept in what labor officials called a version of modern-day slavery." "Four people, including the camp's owner, Ronald Evans, face federal charges in a case that officials said is likely to grow." "Officials said homeless people were recruited to the Evans Labor Camp through offers of room and board along with alcohol, tobacco and drugs, which they bought on credit. But they never made enough at the field to pay it off, according to an investigative summary." ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Regression to days of old is it ? ? ? ? ? And people say that slavery doesn't exist in or borders ? ? ? ? ? Seems to me that the bean counters of our country are busy counting beans, trying to see how few beans we can exist on and how many can be counted profit for the biggies. Not going to rant much tonight, but more is coming. This sort of thing has been going on almost from the BEGINNING OF OUR COUNTRY . . . . . . . . . 0 comments so far
