Mar. 20, 2005 - 15:12 MST ParadeTHE WONDERING JEW Lock Step Passed by the House and up to Senate to consider is a "national ID card" proposal. If passed by the Senate there is no doubt that the administration will do a victory dance. I wonder how soon it will be the black data strip on the back of said "national ID cards," is applied that contains all of one's personal information ? As near as I know a photo is on everyone's driver's license already and all states recognize and accept the licenses from another state. There is already established routine procedures for obtaining a drivers license for the state wherein you live and work after thirty days in the new digs and provisions that a person may not have two drivers licenses. Our state used to show the social security number but stopped that due to identity theft. If our federal government wants to step in and stir the water it would seem to me that at the most it should be in the area of making it unlawful to issue a drivers license to an illegal alien - period. Aliens should prove to the issuing agency their legality to be in this country before obtaining a license. One National ID Card is frightening to the utmost to me and smacks of Nazidom of yore. Might be thought of as a Visa for being an inhabitant of our country. And a means of governmental control in all too many ways. Wonder what weird idea will be proposed next ? ? ? Tatooed numbers and symbols on the wrist of each newborn and adult ? ? ? ? The Parade of March 20th 2005 Intelligence Report has a short article about National ID cards plus gives the access to their website click on Intelligence wherein is shown the documentation that is put forth to the Senate. Take a read of it and decide how you feel about it. Seems to me that our freedoms are being whittled down bit by bit. How soon will it be before a fed employee can pull you over to the curb, stick your driver's license in a reader on his dashboard and know all the intimate details of you life from your medical history, genealogical make up, your financial information and all the other ding-bat items that the government can think of to put on the license ? Will it probably show if you are a Democrat, Republican or Independent ? Probably it will give your credit rating and the feared "No Fly" thingy that hangs folks by the thumbs now. Soon perhaps our citizens will walk down the street only in Lock Step . . . . . . . . . . 0 comments so far
