Dec. 06, 2004 - 22:44 MST THE WONDERING JEW Every Time Even in the small corners of the country this stuff happens. Hidden (buried) way back in the "Briefing" section of our Rocky Mountain News today, which deals with state stuff is an article from Greeley, Colorado, in full: Bonuses irk UNC faculty "Faculty members who went without raises and took on more work during a two-year budget crisis at the University of Northern Colorado are angry about recent administrator bonuses." "Nine top administrators were paid a total of $103,000 in performance bonuses, in addition to a one-time 2 percent payment, at the end of the fiscal year for meeting goals outlined in their contracts." "The administrators found the money within their own operations, which has some faculty thinking the money came at the expense of their cost-saving labor." ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Short and to the point is my opinion. If the $103,000 was equally divided (which I doubt) between the admninistrators it figures out to $11,444.44 each plus some kind of a 2 percent addition. If a crisis existed in money I feel that absolutely no bonuses should ever be given in such circumstances. If there is money available it should go to those who sacrificed to save the necks of the big guys. That is NO raise and more work, Sheesh Louise Simon Legree in modern times. Quote, "The administrators found the money within their own operations." Uh HUH, cookin' the books weren't they to squeeze out a bonus. Found money HAH. Seems to be that way nationally too, the big guys get the goodies after the little guys fall for the "sacrifice needed from them." Heck, they'll do it Every Time . . . . . . . . . . 0 comments so far
