Contact Kelli, temporary manager of Doug's "The Wondering Jew" |
Oct. 02, 2004 - 20:04 MDT THE WONDERING JEW Mindset Back in mid-paper is a small article in the National Briefing section of this morning's Rocky Mountain news. In full: Interior secretary denounced by judge "WASHINGTON -- An angry federal judge denounced Interior Secretary Gale Norton on Friday after officials in her agency weighed cutting off federal checks to American Indians suing the government for past royalties." "Attorneys for Indians seeking billions of dollars in the suit asked for an emergency hearing before the judge, citing Interior Department memos directing a temporary halt to all communications with Indians. One memo said some payments had already been stopped and another said they might have to be stopped." "Has Secretary Norton decided to declare war on the Indians in this litigation ?" Judge Royce Lamberth barked at Sandra Spooner, the Justice Department Lawyer representing Norton and her department." "Attorneys for Norton told the judge that the checks never were and wouldn't be stopped." ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ My opinions. My idea is that there is not enough in that article. That it is incomplete in itself. However the smoke rises from the barrel of the gun, I think. That attorneys for the Indians asking for an emergency hearing in front of a federal judge indicates that something is up in the Interior Department, working against the Indians. They cited Interior Department memos -- directing temporary halt to all communications with Indians. Let's see here, what happens when all communications are cut between man and wife ? ? ? ? Or for that matter in any organization it woulld seem to me to be fatal. One memo said some payments had already been stopped and another said they might have to be stopped. Are these memos genuine or not ? If they are it seems to me that Gale Norton and her department should be heavily investigated and given the heave ho. Does the old oater-Western movie phrase, "White man speak with forked tongue," apply to Norton too ? And then, "Attorneys for Norton told the judge that the checks never were and wouldn't be stopped." So, what is actually going on in the Department of the Interior ? Is the attempt for a final solution to the perceived redskin problem in the works ? In my eye an Indian never has a fair shake due to a very sorry governmental Mindset . . . . . . . . . 0 comments so far
