Riddle Of The World.

There seems to be a brute in man, which all too often surfaces and causes great harm to folks.

The ordinary callousness which hurts feelings, the Me First Syndrome, it seems can escalate into acts of downright cruelty.

Then there is the bestial dragon harbored in man's heart that can be stirred by a radical (any term) rabble rouser, which when turned loose can result in unimaginable horror. All justified in the offenders minds by the garbage spouted by those in power or those seeking power.

Our move westward is not as clean as we would like it to be. The Mormons driven out of Nauvoo, the various Indian tribes who had women and children slaughtered. (Sandcreek Massacre with Chivington and his men parading in Denver celebrating the slaughter of old folks, women and children.) The My Lai massacre and things of that sort that occurred. All supposed to be justified by the propaganda promulgated by those who should know better.

I think most any race or nationality has bloody spots in their history that have been glossed over in the history books.

So, it looks to me that there is some evil thing in everyone's id that is rattling the bars of the cage -- trying to get out and do harm to others.

I can say that most of us had been well trained as children to keep the beast down in the subconscious in that cage and not let ourselves be swayed by bloodthirstiness. Yet, look back at Germany. Most kids were raised to obey their parents, taught to be kind and gentle. Until Hitler put his poison in the hearts and minds of the mass of German folks in order to begin the mass extermination of Jews, gypsies, homo-sexuals and people who didn't quite meet his Ayran ideal.

Right now Al Qaida is the villain and seems to be gaining quite a bit of support from the countries of Islam and then there is Palestine too.

This latest horrible thing in Russia is unimaginable to comprehend. Three hundred and forty people killed of which half were children. 170 innocents gone after being held in a terroristic situation. Regardless of the conflict between the Russians and Chechnyans -- as with other abbatoirs created by radicals I still cannot see just what the people who are engaging in terrorist activities are trying to gain. Right now under the present time, are all we who are infidels supposed to be wiped off the face of the earth, much as Hitler once attempted to do with those who were "non-Aryan" ?

In recent history we have Columbine here in Colorado, but although that was terrible enough, those boys weren't led by fanatic maniacs, they seemed to be self driven maniacs. But the bloodshed and ruined lives are there still.

Is there a contagious insanity that is in each of us, just waiting to be sparked by something luridly terrible. Looks to me that it is the Riddle Of The World . . . . . . . .
