Jul. 28, 2004 - 23:04 MDT THE WONDERING JEW To An End Good things cannot last forever as much as we wish they could. The time grows shorter and shorter looming like a dark rain cloud. The cloud will lift a bit when the Eugene family calls and tells us they made it home safely. But still the lonesomeness will be here. We pushed three tables together at Noodles & Company early this evening so that we all, including the other grandparents, could sit together. Several hours were spent there in eating and gentle conversation, only a little of which I could hear but was pretty well able to get the gist from hand gestures, facial expressions and so forth. Highly enjoyed the whole thing. We don't get to see the other grandparents often but have a ball when we do. Everyone has promised to get this night owl out of bed at five AM in the morning to say goodbye with hugs all around, hopefully no tears will be shed although the parting will be hard. Our prayers will go with them. No matter how hard we try to avoid the parting or even thinking about it, sooner than later all good things come To An End . . . . . . . . . . . 0 comments so far
