An article in the Rocky Mountain News today by Todd Pitman of the Associated Press.

In part. "Judge orders generals to give depostions in Iraqi prison scandal"

"Baghdad, Iraq -- lawyers for two defendants in the Abu Ghraib prison scandal won the right Monday to question top U.S. Generals to bolster arguments their clients were following lawful orders in their treatment of inmates."

"The defense also will have access to Maj. Gen. Geoffrey Miller, who was in charge of the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, prison camp and now runs U. S. detention facilities in Iraq. Others who could be questioned include Lt. Gen. Thomas F. Metz. commander of of Multinational Corps, Iraq and Maj. Gen. Barbara Fast, chief of coalition intelligence."

"However, the military judge, Col. James Pohl, rejected motions by counsel for Sgt. Javal S. Davis and Spc. Charles A. Graner Jr. to compel testimony from Donald Rumsfeld."

So, the investigation can go this far and no farther ? Why ? Seems to me that Rumsfeld should be held accountable for many other things too.

Lawful Orders to my opinion are ones possibly only provable by written evidence. Again I will say that in my opinion unspoken orders come from the top with absolutely no paperwork involved and often no witnesses to testify. Careers have been ruined by underlings who did not obey those "unspoken" orders.

Bonnie showed a picture of the "handbasket" to be used for the world to travel to you know where. Might be so. Travel facilities may be that.

However the old cracker barrel comment by us oldsters from years ago, "The world is going to the dogs," is in dispute. I hear that the dogs refused to accept the world in its present condition. Can't say I blame them.

Today my soul, mind, psyche and understanding are being processed by me in the hope of easing our grief. Must be too soon, Rob seems to be still alive, just out of sight and struggling with pain. But we receive constant input from those who are and have been suffering from similar things and forbearance and patience is recommended. Along with the reminder that things don't occur right now. Thanks for everyone's support.

In that other matter, if they get the bigwigs to testify, how will the brass do so and do CYA too ? But, really, What Will They Say ? . . . . . . . . . . . .
