Bent And Spent

I am like many folks who have a journal or diary, when events seriously concerning family are in process there is really little else to think or write about.

Thinking back, it has been a rough year for Heather. Her ongoing pain has worsened as time went on.

Finally by using a somewhat sophisticated test it was discovered that Heather's gall bladder was not functioning properly.

Surgery was recommended and an appointment set up with her surgeon. Several times the appointment cancelled - as he was doing emergency surgery.

As time has gone on Heather suffered more pain and trouble with her digestion. Foods that she used to be able to eat disagreed with her violently.

Her surgery was today. Our oldest son and middle daughter with their mates were with me. The surgeon let us know that the surgery was a success, her gall bladder sent to pathology and that he had stitched up a small hernia. He told us that he foresaw no complications. She is being kept overnight at the hospital and will be released tomorrow.

Our middle daughter will take her to her house for an overnight stay, just in case Heather needs help in the night. It was decided by all that it was better than Heather trying to awake this deaf old man. If she is feeling better then she will come home with me the following day.

So, after months of worry and the added worry that a high Pro time would put her surgery off once again, she was operated on.

When I left her this evening she was comfortable and had consumed a liquid supper with no consequences, which is a good sign.

Perhaps now she will not experience pain from that and hopefully no pain from some hidden cause, and that she can happily eat whatever as long as it is in moderation.

I guess it is a letdown from anxiety for her, but tonight I am Beat And Spent . . . . . . . . . . .
